Julien Alfred of St Lucia won the gold medal in women’s 100m race at Paris Olympics.

Julien Alfred of St Lucia’s won the first ever medal in Olympic History clinched the gold in women’s 100m.

Julien Alfred finished the 100 meter title in just 10.72 seconds to bring the first-ever Olympic medal to her island country of Saint Lucia. Sha’Carri Richardson’s comeback hit the brick wall on saturday and finished with silver medal.

Racing on the left lane of Richardson, with water puddling on the track in the state de France. Alfred got off to a fantastic start and beat Richardson by .15seconds-about three body length.

While Melissa Jefferson the training partner of Richardson, finished third in 10.92 seconds.

When Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce abruptly withdrew from the semifinal,which went about 90 minutes before the gold medal race,the entire Jamaican team was out of 100.

Richardson, the reigning world champion who was making her Olympic debut after a positive test for marijuana which cost her a chance in Tokyo race three years ago.
